A Golden Light Brings Hope as Nature Recovers

The summer of 2025 was not kind to one of the most recognized landscapes in America. The Dragon Bravo Fire, which was likely started by lightning on July 4, burned over 145,000 acres, including destroying the world-famous Grand Canyon Lodge and surrounding buildings. This shot is presented in recognition of all the people who worked to contain the fire, and who will be called upon to restore and reopen the North Rim. Fortunately, nature will take care of most of the work. “When you walk through a storm keep your chin up high…at the end of a storm there’s a golden sky” applies here and to many events in 2025.
