Thunderous Waterfall

The American Falls as seen from the Canadian side of the Niagara River. The falls were formed about 12,000 years ago by melting glaciers that also created the Great Lakes. As water from Lake Erie flows toward Lake Ontario, it continues to carve into the Niagara escarpment (Niagara Falls, Ontario and New York).
