Corn Ready for Harvest

Farmers have an important choice to make as fall harvest arrives. Each day the corn sits in the field and the sun is out, natural drying is taking place. Getting the moisture down to 14% in the field can save thousands in drying costs at a local grain elevator. But wait too long and rain and snow arrive, and a strong wind will begin to blow the stalks to the ground. Farming is never an exact science. I often catch myself wanting everything to go as planned. But sometimes one needs to make decisions without a clear view of what tomorrow brings. (Lodi, Wisconsin).
