Sunny Disposition of the Yellow Coneflower

Summer is the season for native prairie flowers in Wisconsin with many colorful wonders to appreciate. Ratibida pinnata or Yellow coneflower is a favorite. It blooms most of the summer, and to me it feels like each one is reaching for the sun, extending its head to get the most from the warming rays – Aldo Leopold Nature Center. (Monona, Wisconsin)
