Decending Down the North Kaibab Trail
The North Kaibab Trail begins its decent from the North Rim into the Grand Canyon. More than a few runners each year attempt the R2R2R Endurance Challenge (Rim to Rim to Rim). The R2R2R is approximately 45 miles and includes over 20,000 feet in total elevation change (gain + loss). According to Google, Jim Walmsley currently holds the record of 5 hours 55 minutes and 20 seconds on October 4, 2016 – Grand Canyon National Park. Personally, I can’t imagine doing R2R not to mention doing it twice! I love how this shot shows the trail winding down among the rocky cliffs. It gives me a feeling of isolation one might feel beginning the trek. (North Rim, Arizona).
