Wind Power Over the Mountains of Northern Vermont
The Norris Mountain ridge line in northern Vermont is home to the Sheffield Wind Farm and it’s 398’foot wind turbines. The location was chosen partly because the Interstate highway system traverses this area and as such the landscape had already been physically altered for the transportation corridor. I’m sure not everyone was happy, but working together to find the right location for energy production and tranmission is essential, especially in a scenic state such as Vermont. It may be one of the biggest challenges of our times. At least until microgeneration of energy becomes a reality.
