Meandering Glacial Melt Along the Alaska Railroad

Rivers that are carrying “glacial flour” sediment from the mountains often have a distinct milky appearance which is visible from several locations along the Anchorage to Denali Railroad. The splendid vantage point for this capture was the railroad trestle the train was on to cross the river. A wide-angle setting helped to get the breadth of the meandering path of the river within the frame. I often wonder when I see rivers with shapes like this as to how the erosion path has been randomly selected for this course by different rocks and geological inconsistencies. Is our path in life seen as this random? (Wasilla, Alaska)
