Canadian Fires – Great Lakes Haze

The stillness of a summer sunset, significantly impacted by smoke from the season’s wildfires, as we see the sun move lower over Little Strawberry and Chambers Islands and the waters of Green Bay – Peninsula State Park. This was a very difficult image to process. I wanted to protect the mood of the event, in this case, a strange event that seems to be from another planet. It was tempting to try and make the shot more cheerful. But this is more accurate. Sometimes the mood is just what it is. (Fish Creek, Wisconsin)
