Salt Water Pond on Cape Cod

A tidal-influenced pond that was originally a freshwater kettle hole formed by glacial ice about 18,000 years ago. Around 1,200 years ago, the ocean breached the barrier, allowing tidal seawater to flow in. Salt Pond – Cape Cod National Seashore. We had walked along this pond the day before in a driving rain, and I remember we just felt like we had to come back the next day with it’s blue sky to get a picture. I was drawn to the shape and unform width of the shoreline salt marsh grasses. It looked planned and trimmed but was all natural. Sometimes, nature just knows how to make the scene peaceful and calm.
