Low Tide on Second Beach in Olympic National Park
The tidal shoreline of the Pacific Ocean from San Diego to Washington’s Cape Flattery is a massive 7,313 miles, as measured by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. Here, very close to the northernmost point in the State of Washington, Olympic National Park protects a large section of this spectacular shoreline. Whenever I get close to the ocean, I must put my feet in the water and tell myself that this water travels around the world. I am always in awe of the magnitude of such a thought.
