The Wendy Anne Comes Home
The Wendy Anne, an 85-ton, 71-foot Army tugboat launched in 1950, entering Round Lake Channel from Lake Michigan after passing the Charlevoix South Pier Lighthouse. Today, the Wendy Anne delivers freight and dry goods to St. James Harbor on Beaver Island, 20 miles offshore. I was drawn to the backlight on this shot of the channel and the sense it created for me of the tug coming home after a day of deliveries. (Charlevoix, Michigan)
