Hiking the Deep Woods of Olympic National Forest

The Pacific Northwest offers both temperate oceanic rainforest and warm-summer Mediterranean climates, making for beautiful hiking areas, like the remote Lower Dungeness Trail along the Dungeness River – Olympic National Forest. I was drawn to the lush green foliage and the sense of mystery of what was around the corner as I stopped for this picture. (Sequim, Washington)
