Marking the Way Between Islands on the Great Lakes

Vessels of all sizes stream past Round Island Light, from small pleasure craft to Mackinac Island tourist ferries, to the mighty 1,000-foot lake freighters who need to pass by on their journey from Lake Michigan through the Straits of Mackinac on to Lake Superior. I took this shot from the upper deck of a Shepler’s ferry boat as we zoomed into the harbor. It’s one of my faviorate shots from the island. (Mackinac Island, Michigan)
