Early Evening View from Apgar Beach
A classic example of a natural U-shaped valley, trademark of the movement of massive glaciers over thousands of years. Where this valley is filled with water we have beautiful Lake McDonald – Glacier National Park’s largest and deepest lake. The late “blue hour” lighting after the sun has set is further enhanced by a hazy sky. This shot is one of those where I was tempted to warm the colors in post-processing but instead allowed the filter effect on the haze “clear the air,” so to speak. The result is what you see here.
