Bear Glacier

Glacial Rivers Meander to Resurrection Bay in Kenai Fjords National Park

Bear Glacier as it flows toward Resurrection Bay -Kenai Fjords National Park. The previous few days when we arrived in Seward it had been overcast and rainy. The morning we set off by small boat to see the famous glaciers the sun emerged giving us a glorious day of viewing. The Bear Glacier originates from the Harding Icefield, which is the largest icefield entirely contained within the United States. The Harding Icefield system covers 1,100 square miles.
