Blue Ridge Parkway Beginnings in Great Smoky Mountain National Park

The Blue Ridge Parkway is a 469-mile scenic road winding though the Appalachian Highlands of Virginia and North Carolina. The southern terminus is located here in Great Smoky Mountain National Park. I was a little nervous trying to get a shot of this historic road with very little foliage on the trees. And yet, I think it helped to get a little better view of the character of the path cut through the rocks. (Cherokee, North Carolina).
